| We
often find that site owners already have a domain name they purchased
elsewhere and they would like it to be "attached" to their easisite.
This
is how to do that.
Tell
your provider
Go
to the web site of whoever you bought the domain name from and
see if they have a page where you can log-in and alter the technical
settings for the domain name you own.
There
are usually two settings to consider: the site to which web surfers
will be directed (ie. your easisites web address), and where email
should be delivered (eg. your freeserve, aol or hotmail email address).
To
set the one for the web site, you need to enter the full technical
address of your easisite (ie. http://www.easisites.co.uk/nameofyoursite).
To set the email, fill in your everyday email address like you
did when building your easisite so that mail to your domain name
is re-routed to your usual inbox.
If
your domain name company doesn't have a special log-in page for
you to make these changes, send them an email (or phone them or
write to them) and ask them to do it for you. In most cases there's
no charge.
Ask
us
If
you have no domain name yet and would like one OR you have one
but cannot get it routed to your easisite, send us an email at
admin@easisites.co.uk and we will help you.
We
can register a name for you (you become the name owner) and set
it up accordingly OR we can take over the technical control of
your existing domain name and do the necessaries.
We
make an admin charge of £50 to register a new name or take over
the duties for an existing one.
In
all cases the domain name belongs to you, our customer,
and you can take it with you to a different provider at any time
you wish.
NB:
Transferring a domain name to your easisites web site does not
affect the way your web site functions. You can still use all the
usual easisites facilities - and we will still be invoicing you
£50 (+VAT) per annum! |
