Sent: Sun, 17 Dec 2006 12:02:40 Subject: easisites newsletter#11 December 2006 Hello all, A couple of things... === First, an FAQ (Frequently Asked Question). Search Engines. How do I get my site listed higher on Google? I suspect this is of interest to most of you. Practically everything we know about Search Engines is on www.easi-info.co.uk Check out these items: Using hyperlinks Search engines Spreading the word However, here are some quick tips... 1 Think about what people might type when searching for your services and make sure those words (and phrases) appear on your home page. 2 Make full use of your 'short, snappy description'. We've engineered easisites so that this statement is presented to Search Engines as your primary search term. 3 Keep your site current and update regularly. Such activity registers with and interests the search engines. If you don't update your site regularly, the search engines may well think you are dormant, at best, or, at worst, defunct. 4 Give the search engines a nudge every so often, just to let them know that you aren't either dormant or defunct (see item on Search engines). 5 Get as many other sites to link to you as you can (the more the merrier). There are no guarantees, unfortunately. Search engines are laws unto themselves. However, if you don't do these things (1, 3, 4, particularly), it's pretty much guaranteed that you will fall off the search engines' map. If anybody has anything to add, please let us know. === Second (a less frequently asked question - but it has been asked), we have been working on an easisites shop facility which will enable any easisites site owner to have their own online shop. We hope to have this up and running in the next few of weeks. Watch this space! === That season is once more upon us so please let us wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy, prosperous new year. Remember, if you have any seasonal specials on offer, let people know about it. ===== Your feedback, as always, would be welcome. Any comments or questions, please get back to me. Best Wishes.
