This is a News Flash, rather than a Newsletter.

There is some new legislation that you need to know about.

Changes to The Companies Act 1985 mean that all companies in the UK must include certain regulatory information on their websites and in their email footers (all business-related email communications) from 1st January 2007, or they will breach the act and risk a fine.

To add the relevant information to the "signature" or footer of emails...

If you use Microsoft Outlook...

Click on Tools...  Options...  Mail Format

Then click on Signatures...  New...

Give your signature a name (doesn't matter what) and click next.

Then type in whatever you want for your signature

and click OK.

When you next create a new message, you'll see that signature at the foot of your email.

Hopefully...

If you use Mozilla Thunderbird...

Create a text document of your signature (using, say Notepad, Wordpad or Textpad - your computer is bound to have one of these - if you're not sure which, click to open the attached document).  Save the document (anywhere, so long as you know where it is).

Then go to Tools...  Account Settings...

Then tick the box next to...  Attach this signature:

Then click Choose... (or Browse...) and browse until you find the saved text document of your signature.

Then click OK.

When you next create a new message, you'll see that signature at the foot of your email.
