Two things...
1 The first thing
Many of you, I know, are fast approaching the time when your easisites renewal is due.
With this in mind, and for a limited period only, we have decided to double the cashback bonuses to any of you who recommends easisites to other people.
To anyone who helps spread the word, we will give a cheque for £30 for every new web site that is built and paid for (the usual £100+VAT) as a result - so long as it is built and paid for before the end of September.
So, if you recommend easisites to anyone, let us know who they are (by emailing us at mailto:admin@easisites.com) and, provided they build and pay for a site (or sites), you'll get your cheque.
By recommending just two people who build sites, you will more than have paid for your renewal!
2 'Planting' pictures in freestyle text areas
If you want an image (a logo, say) to appear in the body of your web site, this can now be achieved using the 'extras' facility.
Use your password to go into edit and click on 'extras' on the gold bar at the top of the page.
Then browse on your computer for the picture file you want and upload it. Return to edit.
Then, in the freestyle text area where you want the picture to be seen, type:
where 'yourwebsitetitle' refers the part of your easisites web address that appears after the forward slash - eg easisites.co.uk/smithandson or kent-esites.co.uk/smithandson - and 'yourpicturefilename' refers to the name of the picture file you want to include - eg smithslogo.jpg. (Note: If you have your own domain name, you will still have to use your original easisites web site title.)
But remember, web pictures need to be in the electronic form of either JPG or GIF.
Also take account of space limitations. You can specify the size of the image. Simply type:
To give you some idea of sizes, the hand-holding-mouse image on www.easisites.co.uk is 225x125 pixels (ie width="225" height="125").
Note: Your implanted picture will not appear in Preview until you have published your web site.
You can also make the picture into a web link, by typing.
in front of the
part and after. Thus:
To see examples, take a look at:
www.touchwoodboxes.co.uk (Roy has a picture link on his Links to Other Sites page)
www.kent-esites.co.uk/michaelaforbes (Michaela has a logo at the bottom of every page + picture links on the right of the second page)
If you would like to take advantage of these new features but can't understand the gobbledygook, just get back to me. (I'm not sure I
understand it myself, but I'll muddle through somehow!)
